Thank you so much Ms. Sharon Childers and everyone at Haywood Community College for hosting CHHS, PHS, & THS seniors who have applied to HCC on Wednesday, March 22.
CHHS students got to tour both the traditional campus and the High Tech Center, hear from both students at HCC as well as program deans, and learn more about financial aid and online communication as an HCC student.
At HCC students can earn a certificate (maybe even in a semester) that will immediately make them more employable, they can continue on to earn a diploma (approximately one year), or they can pursue an Associates Degree in 5 semesters (approximately two years). Several students on the HCC panel are planning to continue their studies at a 4-year university (having saved several thousand dollars!), but CHHS students were reminded that the route they choose at HCC is totally up to them!
CHHS students interested in finalizing their application to HCC are reminded:
- Make sure your FAFSA is complete and has been submitted to HCC.
- HCC will send an EMAIL to applicants once the HCC Scholarship application for fall opens.
- Interested students should call HCC to make an appointment to take the Accuplacer, if needed. Learn more at https://www.haywood.edu/counseling/placement-testing
- Course registration for fall semester is now open for students who have completed all admissions requirements. Call HCC if you have NOT received a LETTER in the mail to see if your application has any missing pieces.
